Beth is an international session hairstylist with almost 15 years experience working in hair. With a focus in fashion, she spent close to a decade living in New York City, traveling the world for premier fashion shows and campaigns. She now resides in Paris, creating her own hairstyles for editorials and clients, and leading backstage. She has worked on fashion shows such as Chanel, Thom Browne, Margiela, Yohji Yamamoto, Jil Sander, Ann Demeulemeester, Hermes and many more.Her work can be found in the pages of Elle, Wallpaper*, System Beauty, Schön, and others.
GABRIEL DE FRIES
Gabriel is a Paris based hairstylist who works closely on the pulse of today’s fashion industry. With over a decade of experience, he started his career in Switzerland before relocating to London and now Paris. He has worked with photographers like Walter Pfeiffer and Juergen Teller, and for magazines such as Vogue, System Magazine, and V Mag. He has spent many fashion seasons backstage, learning the most crucial hair techniques behind the scenes at Chanel, Maison Margiela, Jil Sander, Moschino, Jean Paul Gaultier, The Row, Prada, Loewe and many more…

Through the combined trainings of our two educators, The Fundamentals has accumulated three decades of
hair-focused experience and advanced education, with over one decade working exclusively backstage and on set. We founded The Fundamentals in 2023 to share our experiences with you, so you can gain the knowledge in a much shorter time.
