    ABOUT THIS COURSE:

    In this Fundamentals Course, you will learn the foundations of session hairstyling.

    Over this 2 day intensive, Beth Shanefelter

    and Gabriel de Fries will guide you through product knowledge and proper usage, blowdrying to prepare for your hairstyle, hot tool techniques, and best practices for tying back hair.

    Each day will include a demonstration on a model by one of the instructors. This will be followed by hands on learning, where you will have the opportunity to practice techniques on mannequin heads under the guidance of the 2 instructors.

    This class includes a provided mannequin head (for use during the course), course materials, light breakfast and lunch, and a curated gift bag.

     

    IS THIS COURSE FOR YOU?

    This course is for you if…

    • you are a make-up artist looking to strengthen your hair styling skills.

    • you are a hairdresser interested in beginning a fashion career on set or backstage at fashion week.

    • you are a hairdresser who is just beginning your journey and looking to build a strong hair styling foundation.

    • you have an interest in working behind the camera on fashion and advertising sets.

     

    After these 2 days, you will return to work with new techniques to build your visions and advance your business.

     

    WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING:

    Hot tools including: blowdryer with nozzle and diffuser, tongs of various sizes (minimum 2 different sizes, but bring more if you have them),  straightener, combs and brushes.

    A more detailed supply list will be sent out after registration.

     

    All Studio of Skills classes offer an intimate teaching environment of min 4  students and 10 max. This offers students one-on-one attention and time for each person to practice their hands-on techniques. Studio of Skills is dedicated to give each and every participant the personal interaction and guidance needed to overcome their individual obstacles and expand their unique creative potential.
